ROS2 Jazzy on Jetson Orin Nano — anyone got hardware-accelerated compressed image transport working?

Running ROS2 Jazzy on a Jetson Orin Nano and CPU usage from image_transport's compressed plugin is way higher than I expected at 30fps/1080p. Is there a hardware-accelerated (NVENC) transport plugin that actually works on Jazzy, or is everyone just running lower resolution?

    Yes — image_transport_plugins has an NVENC-backed plugin path via GStreamer on Jetson, but you have to build it against the Jetson-provided GStreamer/NVENC libraries specifically, the stock apt package won't pick it up automatically on Jazzy yet.

    Can confirm this works — CPU usage dropped from ~85% on one core to under 15% after switching to the GStreamer/NVENC path at 1080p30. Worth a full writeup.
